Film 9: The Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult (1994)

This is only going to be a quick one.

There isn't really anything I can say about the third Naked Gun movie that I haven't already said about the second one. It plays in the exact same style, throwing up several jokes and visual gags as often as it can. Leslie Nielsen returns as Lt. Frank Drebin, acting as the straight man in this constant barrage of humour. This time he's retired from Police Squad, and trying to adjust to domestic life with his new wife (Jane, played again by Priscilla Presley).

The movie's still funny, good for a few chuckles. Perhaps not as many jokes land; maybe it's because I only watched the second one a couple of days prior, maybe because some of the jokes just aren't as funny this time around.

The Verdict: The third Naked Gun movie is worth a watch if you enjoyed the first two; it's the same type of humour, the same kind of jokes without re-using any gags from the previous films. Once again, not every joke gets a laugh, but there are a lot of them.

Rating: 6/10
